Through a design competition amongst five artists, and commissioned by the Houston Public Library and the City of Houston through the Cultural Arts Council, DSIGNAGE was selected to create artistic enhancements in conjunction with architectural renovations to the Central Library. The estimated $400,000 budget for the enhancements included, new paving patterns, shading devices, and a proposed 72'-0" LED light wall that will flash and animate the plaza with the keystrokes of Houstonians searching the computerized card catalog system.
