DIFFA/Houston was the largest source of private dollars for AIDS care in the Greater Houston area. Since its inception in 1987, DIFFA/Houston granted over $2.5 million to local organizations for HIV/AIDS care, research, treatment, and preventive education. DIFFA/Houston receives its funding from private donations and special events. A volunteer for over 10 years, Kirk sat on the Executive Board, and was instrumental in much of their special event graphic design and hand-crafted seasonal card design. DIFFA has mobilized the immense resources of the design communities to provide over $32 million to hundreds of AIDS organizations nationwide.
