The second half of the Twentieth century brought unprecedented changes in the visibility and public perception of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) people in the United States. These exhibits explored the great diversity of a community made up of distinct cultural groups, each with its own identity and developmental history. Featured items presented a bold and frank look at the social, cultural, and political experiences of Houston's GLBT community.
